ESCI T-34/76 WIP

Ready for accessories and painting. And notice that the tracks are still missing. More on that soon.

T-34/76 WIP: Nearing the Homestretch

The wheels went on without a hitch, though I'm a bit worried about fitting the tracks with the hull on. So I just dryfitted it and will just glue it when everything's finished. I added hand rails around the hull using small wire. Getting everything straight and clean was really frustrating since my superglue dried a bit too fast before I could position each rail. I did manage to finsh them after two hours but my little tube of superglue first got the cover glued on then, after making a small slit at the other end of the tube, the whole tube dried up :( Everything was spray painted primer grey to check for imperfections. The turret has some dimples on it, something I might have to putty and/or add grab rails to. After a quick check, I spray painted everything lightly with a matt black followed by a medium green. I'll be handpainting this using acrylics but I prefer base painting it beforehand. I'm still looking for a good Russian...

Reputtied and Resanded

More work on the T-34/76. The putty I used earlier to fill in holes shrank so I added some more layers and resanded them. I hit some placement marks but no biggie. I also started work on the chassis and the wheel assemblies. Hopefully, this tank gets finished over the weekend. Hopefully.

Summer

Darn the summer heat! The putty used to seal holes and seams on the T-34/76's hull is shrinking from the heat. What were sanded flat surfaces a few days ago are now showing outlines of the holes they filled. Will need to reputty and resand. posted from Bloggeroid
